Who We Are

A Student-Powered Blog

Through the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL), the Minority Health Disparities Initiative (MHDI) focuses on the existing and growing health disparities in Nebraska’s (as well as the nation’s) minority populations. MHDI’s primary objective is to identify and strengthen the infrastructure, in addition to the network of investigators and practitioners addressing critical health issues to the state and the nation. MHDI is committed to breaking down traditional academic silos, and adopting an interdisciplinary and translational approach that includes research, policy, practice and training.

The “UGRA” Students

As both undergraduate research assistants for MHDI and students at UNL, we are a collaborative group of individuals seeking to highlight various minority health disparities on a local and state-wide scale. Through research and use of various multimedia platforms we hope to create a blog that provides intriguing, informative posts for leisure, personal learning and educational uses.
